Welcome
This site provides information for administrative and community review of a proposed CTAE elective focused on live event production, staging, sound, lighting, and media technology.
All materials align with the Georgia Department of Education’s Audio/Video Technology & Film (Course 10.51810) standards within the Arts, A/V Technology & Communications cluster.
This course is not designed to supplant or duplicate existing programs in Broadcasting & Communications, Computer Science, Media Technology, Theatre Arts, Graphic Communications, or Audio-Video Technology & Communications. Its purpose is to specialize in Live Production and Event Technology, providing students with hands-on experience and technical proficiency applicable to professional production settings.
Rather than replacing current offerings, this program is intended to support and enhance existing courses by providing technical collaboration, event coverage, and real-world production experience that benefit multiple departments across the school.
Purpose
Engage students in real-world production environments using professional equipment while supporting school and community events.
Standards Alignment
Built on the AAVTC-AVTFI-1 through AAVTC-AVTFI-10 standards with emphasis on employability, safety, equipment use, and production teamwork.
Community Impact
Enhances event quality, supports arts programs, and prepares students for college or technical careers in the media industry.
